Description
Przemek Dyakowski – a Polish jazz veteran, excellent saxophone player, musician, music composer, music journalist, ThreeCity jazz propagator and one of the founders of UCHO Music Club in Gdynia. He is actively involved in organising a variety of concerts and other cultural evens in UCHO.
Przemek Dyakowski turned 80 years old on the 1st of June 2015. Originally from Krakow but he has lived in Gdynia since 1964.
Przemek’s artistic background was formed in Krakow in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Polish cultural events of the few last decades reflect his life story as he was very often part of them. Przemek discovered the talented Ewa Demarczyk. Piotr Skrzynecki, Wieslaw Dymny, Zygmunt Konieczny were close friends of Przemek. Krakow “Piwnica pod Baranami” was the place of the most influential jazz music in the country. The musicians who played there created history of Polish jazz.
His greatest achievement, in Przemek’s opinion, was playing for many years in the band “Swing Old Stars” with the legendary Jerzy “Duduś” Matuszkiewicz, Wojtek Karolak, Andrzej Dąbrowski and Janusz Kozłowski.
“Take It Easy” band recorded a live concert on 31st May 2015 in the Janusz Hajdun Studio of Radio Gdansk. The concert was transmitted live and Hanna Banaszak was a guest star of the performance.
This is the fourth record produced by “Take It Easy” during the last 10 years. The members of the group are themselves leaders of their own bands and work with a variety of modern jazz styles. On this record all members presented their own compositions in a swing style. All the lyrics are written by vocalist Joanna Knitter.
